(SQAUK) — Haiden Deegan (#38) had a great start to the 2024 SMX Playoffs by winning the 250 class opener. Despite a slow start, Deegan’s aggressive riding and speed allowed him to slice through the field and take the win. His strategic mastery of the track’s quad section and fast pace, at times over 1.5 seconds faster than his rivals, were crucial to his comeback. The Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing rider now leads the 250 class standings, 8 points ahead of teammate Levi Kitchen, who had a solid race but couldn’t match Deegan’s intensity.
Tom Vialle of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing finished third on the podium, but Deegan’s determination stole the show. From his strategic handling of the jumps to his exceptional cornering, Deegan’s win sets the stage for a fiercely competitive SMX playoff season. With the momentum on his side, the #38 rider is the favorite to continue dominating in the upcoming rounds.
