(SQAUK) BUTLER COUNTY, Penn — Police bodycam audio from the day of the shooting at a Donald Trump rally has uncovered that the backpack allegedly carried by the shooter, Thomas Crooks, is missing. Crooks, who multiple witnesses saw riding a bicycle and carrying a bag just before the attack, was apprehended shortly after the incident. Nonetheless, authorities have not located the backpack, fueling suspicions that Crooks may not have acted alone.
After the attack, an audio recording emerged of a police officer questioning the absence of a backpack, which is an essential piece of evidence that could provide more clues about the attack. This revelation has led to widespread speculation that the attacker may have given the bag to an accomplice, who is still at large. Despite extensive searches and public appeals, the whereabouts and contents of the backpack remain unknown, raising more questions than answers as the investigation continues.
“The actor was last seen by Sierra Unit with a backpack, but he is not in possession of that backpack now,” said a police officer over the radio (at 3:20 in the video). The suspect had a backpack and a bike on the west side of the AGR–they hadn’t established a perimeter. He was seen with an additional backpack after that when they were trying to first catch him.”
Shortly after, another police officer came on the radio and informed all officers to “be advised” that the suspect had a “second backpack” in addition to the one spotted hanging on the bicycle. Furthermore, we need to ask: What happened to the bike?
